The Oklahoma City bombing in 1995?

BECAUSE I LIVED IT.

WE REMEMBER… BECAUSE I LIVED IT

April 19th. 9:02 AM.
Most people remember where they were.

I remember where I wasn’t.

I’m from Oklahoma City.

But at that time… I had just come back.
I was 23 years old — a new kid fresh out the Army.

Trying to figure life out again.
Trying to build something.

The last two years before that… I was in Denver,
starting my first real entrepreneurial move — my perfume business.

Then I came back home to OKC.
Less than a year back.

New chapter.
New grind.
New routine.

And that routine?

It centered around that building.

That was my bank.
The one I went to every day—sometimes twice a day.

8:45 AM—drop off my son.
Same building. Same daycare. Same everything.

That’s where I had my first account as a teenager.
That’s where my business deposits were being made.

That building wasn’t just a stop…
it was part of my life.

But that morning…

I wasn’t there.

I had just come out of surgery at Baptist Medical Center.
My mouth wired shut.
Still bleeding.
Barely conscious.

They rushed me out.

Not because I was okay…
but because something bigger had just happened.

Sirens.
Screaming.
Confusion.

Even in that state, I could feel it.

Something was wrong.

When I woke up…

Everything tied to that building—
was gone.

The bank I walked into every day… gone.
The people I saw every day… gone.

My friends… on that floor… gone.

And the part that still hits the hardest—

My son’s daycare.

The kids.
The laughter.
The families.

Gone.

We weren’t there that day.

And that reality stays with me.

Not as luck.
Not as coincidence.

But as something I had to learn how to carry.

I carried it for years.

The weight.
The questions.
The “why them?”

Over a decade of processing something you never truly get over…
on top of everything I had already been through in the military.

But I made it through.

SO TODAY… I REMEMBER

Not just the tragedy.

But the life I was building at 23.
The routines.
The people.

AND TOMORROW… I MOVE WITH PURPOSE

Because being spared means something.

You don’t waste time after that.

You show up.
You build.
You help.

That’s why SouthSideDM means more to me than just business.

It’s about reaching people while you still can.

Getting into 5,000 homes for $500 isn’t just marketing—
it’s presence.

It’s impact.

Because one day… everything can change.

FROM SURVIVAL → TO IMPACT

If you’re here…
you’ve got something to give.

And somebody out there needs it.

FINAL WORD

I was 23.
Fresh out the Army.
Back home.
Building something new.

And in one moment… everything changed.

I remember.

And because I remember…

I move different.
